Carbogen Breathing

One of the obstacles to treating cancer is the poor blood supply to tumors. Only a portion of chemotherapy that oncologists deliver intravenously (or orally) actually reaches the entire tumor due to this limitation. At Ixtapa, we increase the tumor blood supply during our treatment by administering Carbogen Gas. Carbogen is 95% oxygen and 5% carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide dilates tumor vessels, thereby increasing tumor blood flow. The oxygen associated with the carbon dioxide reaches the tumor in greater concentrations as well, through the same mechanism. Hypoxia, or low oxygen concentrations, promotes tumor resistance and progression.

Medical Testing

All laboratory testing is performed by laboratories not affiliated with the Institute and you may have the freedom to choose any of the highly qualified laboratories available in the area.
The reason we encourage our patients to use these laboratories is because reports and results are independent to reports we generate in house so the patients may compare the validity of the results.
A local laboratory is only minutes away from the Clinic. Transportation to and from the Laboratories is provided for you.
