Alkalinization

The acidity surrounding cancer cells appears to promote the generation of growth factors as well as angiogenesis and metastasis (spread of cancer). Tumors possess hydrogen-ATPase pumps that pump hydrogen ions out of the cell. This allows the tumor cell to remain neutral to alkaline, while acidifying the extracellular environment. The acid environment confers resistance to chemotherapy drugs. Studies reveal that alkalinization may allow the cancer cells to be more susceptible to toxic therapy, as well inhibiting angiogenesis and metastasis. This can easily be accomplished with intravenous sodium bicarbonate therapy, as is being used by Dr. Simoncini in Italy. At Ixtapa, we will ensure an alkaline tumor environment through the use of intravenous sodium bicarbonate.

All laboratory testing is performed by laboratories not affiliated with the Institute and you may have the freedom to choose any of the highly qualified laboratories available in the area.
The reason we encourage our patients to use these laboratories is because reports and results are independent to reports we generate in house so the patients may compare the validity of the results.
A local laboratory is only minutes away from the Clinic. Transportation to and from the Laboratories is provided for you.
