What is Anti-Aging Medicine?
Anti-Aging Medicine is a relatively new term. Although the definitions vary, the principle is to slow, and at times, even reverse the aging process. Aging may be defined as cumulative changes that lead to a decrease in functional capacity. In humans, aging is associated with degenerative changes of the skin, bones, heart and blood vessels, lungs, nervous system, and other organs and tissues.
An Anti-Aging practitioner should:
- Treat the cause of the symptom or disorder, thus preventing its return and/or progression.
- Use different modalities to treat disease such as supplementation/herbal medicine, pharmaceutical medicine, nutritional and exercise guidance, as well as other forms of complementary medicine. No single type of therapy treats all disease!
- Address all causes of aging and age-related disease:
Traditional practitioners tend to practice the art of patching. Patching in the medical field refers to treating patients with different pharmaceutical drugs for each symptom that they present with. This approach is merely a temporizing measure, and the symptoms will certainly return. Consider the following analogy: you ride a bicycle on a street lined with nails; each time the tire gets punctured and becomes flat, you go to a practitioner for repair. The traditional physician will continue to patch the tire until there is simply nothing left to patch. The Anti-Aging practitioner will remove all of the nails from the street.A. Dietary intake

C. Environmental toxins
D. Hormonal decline
E. Oxidative stress

Gerovital-H3 improves cell metabolism and has an effect on many mental and physical afflictions usually associated with aging: arthritis, migraine, abnormal blood pressure, peptic ulcers, acne, Parkinson's Disease, Hodgkinsons Disease, atherosclerosis, sickle cell anemia, hypoglycemia, senility, poor hearing, poor eyesight, failing memory, muscle fatigue, bad circulation, heart disease, angina, pectoris, impotence, varicose veins, wrinkles, and excessive cholesterol. Gerovital can also help to reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol is an unusual hormone in that it increases with age. It is believed that high-cortisol levels lead to accelerated aging because cortisol attacks the hypothalamus (the area of the brain that controls the endocrine system). Ironically, cortisol may run out of control due to its ability to damage the hypothalamus that controls the adrenal glands that produce cortisol! Thus this vicious circle leads to an impaired endocrine system.Gerovital-H3 is also a reversible inhibitor of the brain enzyme MAO, a substance that increases with age and breaks down neurotransmitters, having a detrimental effect on brain function. This is what accounts for Gerovital-H3's anti-depressant affect.
Gerovital-H3 can increase appetite and desire. It is a catalyst serving to promote manufacture of other vitamins (bio-nutrients) and has many other catalytical effects on the cellular level. Like Cantron, OPC's, Ginseng, etc., it can help protect against radiation damage.
Gerovital is an anti-depressant with a cortisol-inhibiting effect that provides a whole host of revitalizing properties. This famous and original anti-aging drug, discovered by Professor Dr. Ana Aslan, consists of primarily procaine (the familiar dental anesthetic) stabilized with small amounts of benzoic acid, potassium meta-bisulfate and disodium phosphate.
The active ingredient, procaine hydrochloride, breaks down in the bloodstream into two bio-nutrients that naturally occur in the body but become deficient as we age; para-aminobenzoic Acid (PABA) and diethylaminoethanol (DEAE).
PABA favorably affects glands, hair, intestines, blood cell formation, protein metabolism and all function of the skin. PABA also stimulates manufacture of other essential vitamins, such as B1, K, folic acid and pantothenic acid.
DEAE is a building block of two body substances important to the central nervous system; colane and are acetylcholine. Both are parts of the body's stress reaction system and are important in memory functions. DEAE has been proven to produce mental stimulation, mild euphoria and has a positive effect on mood states.
Indications:
Preventative and curative treatment of old age phenomena. It is also indicated in tropic disorders, neuritis, cerebral and peripheral arteriosclerosis, Parkinson's disease, spondylosis, arthrosis, osteoporosis, neurodermitis, eczema, alopecia, psoriasis, sclederma and vitiligo.Contraindications:
Specific allergy to procaine (individual tolerance will be tested).Adverse Reactions:
No adverse reactions have been recorded. With procaine sensitive persons, the following phenomena may however appear; cephalea, shaking, bradycardia or tachycardia, motor or psychic restlessness, allergic reactions.Incompatibility:
Gerovital H3 should not be administered simultaneously with sulphonamides (inactivation), eserine or prostigmine. To get started, please visit our HOW TO APPLY page and submit the Preliminary Application Form. This will allow our doctors to pre-analyze your case.
